The figure on the mountain - Part IV

It was five o' clock in the morning and I couldn 't sleep any longer I was upset with what had happened. So, I turned my comuter on and I found information on that old castle on the mountain. It seem that the owner of the castle had been murdered. His name was Andrew Shelton. Althought it was so early, I called my friends. They were restless too and they had already done their reasearch on the net. According to the legend this man was the richest man of the country. He had no children, but one day he was found underground. His hands and feet were tied. The poor man was dead, murdered by someone who wanted his money.

We decided to go back to the mountain. We went straight to the graveyard. We started looking for his grave. We finally found it. But what was that on the ground, over the grave? There was a note. Alice picked it up and read 'Thank you children. You set me free and now my spirit can at last rest".

It was then when we realished that the man we found was the gost of the rich man!

THE END

The figure on the mountain - Part III

The man led us to the remains of the castle. It was very old and we couldn 't see anything. We stood outside a gigantic wooden gate. The man pushed the door hard but it creaked because it was so old. We could hardly see in the dark, so the man lit a torch. Although we should be afraid, we trusted him. There was something innocent about him. "This was my house", he said. "But how? This is a castle, an ancient castle". The man repied "Don 't ask why, you will find out about me soon, very soon". Then, the man took the torch, walked for a while and he suddenly disappeared. We stayed speachless in the dark. It was late and we had to go back.

The figure on the mountain - Part IΙ

So, I went behind the tree and I suddenly fell down in a hole. The children heard my voice "Ah!! Help!!". It was totally dark, I couldn't see a thing. Everything was blur. It took me a few minutes to get used to the dark. When I finally saw where I was, I noticed a man standing a few metres away. I was surprised and terrified at the same time. His hands and feet were tied. He looked old and tired. He seemed very scared. "Can you untie me?", he asked. "Yes of course!" I answered. I didn't know who he was but he seemed harmless. I was curious so I asked "Who are you? What are you doing here? Who has tied you up?". The old man touched his head and remained silent.

Before he answered I heard my friends calling my name "Paul, Paul, are you there? Are you OK?". "Yes, I am down here and I 'm fine. There is a man here next to me. Can you find something to pull us up?". I heard my friends looking for a rope and after a while they pulled us up. It was hard and dangerous but we did it.

When my friends made sure I was safe and sound they turned to the old man. "Who are you?". The old man looked at us mysteriously and he said "Follow me"...

THE EVERYDAY LIFE OF A STUDENT IN ATHENS

By George

I wake up in the morning   and then I have my breakfast.  I usually have milk with bread or cereals. I also like biscuits but my mum doesn't buy them very often.  I also drink a big glass of juice.  I prefer orange juice.

<><> <><> <><>
Then I go to school.  I don't like school a lot. I like my friends and I play with them but I don't like having lesson so much.  My favourite lesson is Maths. I like solving exercises.  My teacher is very good.

When I go back to school I have lunch.  We usually have vegetables, meat with potatoes or rice or pasta. I like pasta a lot. We always have salad. My mum eats a lot of salad.  After lunch I play with my brother.

In the afternoon I study. Twice a week I go to my English school.  In Greece we call it frontistirio. Ι go to Φροντιστήριο ΕΚΦΡΑΣΗ in Aharnes.  My teachers help me understand English.  We always have fun, we play, we sing, we write projects and we talk a lot.  I like talking!

In the evening I get ready to go to bed.  I always drink milk and brush my teeth.  Then I read my favourite comic and I sleep.  My mum and dad kiss me goodnight and then I dream.

At the weekends, I play a lot. I usually play with my brother and my friends.  Games are fun.
