THE EVERYDAY LIFE OF A STUDENT IN ATHENS

By George

I wake up in the morning   and then I have my breakfast.  I usually have milk with bread or cereals. I also like biscuits but my mum doesn't buy them very often.  I also drink a big glass of juice.  I prefer orange juice.

Then I go to school.  I don't like school a lot. I like my friends and I play with them but I don't like having lesson so much.  My favourite lesson is Maths. I like solving exercises.  My teacher is very good.

When I go back to school I have lunch.  We usually have vegetables, meat with potatoes or rice or pasta. I like pasta a lot. We always have salad. My mum eats a lot of salad.  After lunch I play with my brother.

In the afternoon I study. Twice a week I go to my English school.  In Greece we call it frontistirio. Ι go to Φροντιστήριο ΕΚΦΡΑΣΗ in Aharnes.  My teachers help me understand English.  We always have fun, we play, we sing, we write projects and we talk a lot.  I like talking!

In the evening I get ready to go to bed.  I always drink milk and brush my teeth.  Then I read my favourite comic and I sleep.  My mum and dad kiss me goodnight and then I dream.

At the weekends, I play a lot. I usually play with my brother and my friends.  Games are fun.

The Clash of the Titans

The film begins with a narration that explains the three Olympians who battled the Titans long ago:Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Hades provided their means of defeating the Titans with his creation, theKraken. After the Titans' defeat, Zeus created humans and ruled them while Poseidon ruled the sea, but Hades, having been deceived by his brother Zeus, was forced to rule the Underworld, learns an alternative way of gaining power from humans different from his brothers receiving theirs from human prayer: through fear.

Millennia later, an angry king who destroys all the ancient statues of gods. Gods get angry with him and want to kill him. But, Zeus tells them that they will punish him instead. So, Zeus in the form of the king rapes his wife Danae. The king gets angry and puts Danae and the newborn child, whose name is Perseus, into a coffin in the sea. Danae dies but Perseus is found and raised by a fisherman named Spyros.

Years later, Perseus and his family are fishing when they witness a group of soldiers from Argos destroying a statue of Zeus as a declaration of war against the Gods. Hades appears and commands harpies to massacre the soldiers before he himself destroys Perseus' family's fishing boat. Perseus tries to save his family but it is late. Τhe surviving soldiers take Perseus back to Argos.

The whole film shows the battle between Perseus and Hades and the difficulties that Perseus meets to beat Hades. In the end, Perseus sends Hades back to Underworld, because Hades is immortal and cannot die.

THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE

The legend of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle is one of the strangest of all sea tales. The Bermuda Triangle is a section of the Atlantic Ocean off the southeastern coast of Florida. A line drawn from Florida to Bermuda, then to Puerto Rico and back to Florida, forms a rough triangle over this segment of ocean. Within this triangle, or very near it, more than fifty ships and airplanes have vanished. Many others have met with bizarre disasters.
The legend began in 1945, when a squadron of five American Navy bombers vanished while flying over the area. They were flying during the day, under clear weather conditions, and with compasses. The commander of the five plane squadron was talking to his base by radio. He announced that they seemed to be lost. After that, the planes were never heard from again. A search plane was sent out to find the five. It also disappeared. In 1948, an airliner flying toward Miami vanished over the Triangle. A few months later, another plane disappeared. In 1950, still another airplane flew into the Triangle, never to be seen again. A ship named The Sandra sailed into the triangle and vanished. In 1953, another ship, sailing north of the Triangle, sent out distress signals that were suddenly cut off. Ships and planes were sent to search for the ship, but they never found it.
There have been many explanations for these mysterious happenings. Some people believe that there is a strange force at work in this part of the ocean. Some suggest there may be some kind of `hole' in the triangle that ships and planes go through into another world. Others think that UFO's steal the planes, ships, and their crews, and take them away.
Some people don't believe that there is anything extraordinary about the Bermuda Triangle. Thousands of shipsand airplanes have passed through the Triangle without encountering trouble. The Triangle isn't the only place where ships and planes have vanished. Many ships have vanished all over the world's oceans. Many reasons exist for such things happening, such as sudden storms or seaquakes. These are just some of the dangers of going to sea. The Bermuda Triangle just happens to be a part of the sea where there have been many disasters.
Whatever the reasons for these strange happenings, the legend of the Bermuda Triangle remains the strangest of all sea tales.
