Graffiti art considered vandalism

The graffiti as a synonym of art and free expression. Is considered as painting designs on public or private property outside (walls). This type of art can be understood in different ways and can be considered also as vandalism. It’s a design sense, a strong sense of form, colors, a dynamic image. Althought  many of these painters are extremely talented and spend a lot of time on their pieces, society has labeled them as vandals who damaged private property and visually pollute cities.
These artists use graffiti as a way of expression to society. On the other hand, society thinks graffiti can affect the communities confidence and reduce property values. Many of these people who practice painting in public and private properties are people who society discriminates. For this reason, they use this means to defend their right to free expression. They do it as self expression to make the public areas beautiful in there own way which is exactly art.
I believe society consider graffiti as vandalism  because they don’t know what that exactly mean. Vandalism is only vandalism when it is mischievous or malicious destruction or damage of property.Yes, graffiti may be vandalism if done on public property out of a mischievous act but if graffiti is friendly environment,  it is not vandalism. Some graffiti artists are against any form of destruction on private property such as people’s houses, schools or churches.
It takes skill, practice and a lot of determination to make a paint for the world to see. Any child can pick up spray paint and draw a doodle of one or two lines but it takes an artist with talent to transform the average brick wall into a canvas of creativity. For the majority of people, graffiti is nothing more than bright splotches on a wall. But to people who appreciate it, graffiti is a skill that is changing the way we look at spray paint.  It can have strong artistic qualities and technically good.
I think the difference between art and vandalism is the vandal has no respect for another individual. However, society nowadays still discriminates against very talented men and women who put their talents to the public. These are considered as vandals because they damage private property and pollute the environment in any way.Do not judge a book by its cover, we must learn to respect people and appreciate their art.
